Who we are

Dr. Steven Lampert is a respected clinician and healthcare executive with over 30 years of experience.  He approaches healthcare challenges with a physician's perspective dedicated to improving patient care by encouraging physician leadership within collaborative Systems of Care. 

Dr. Lampert is the former president of Lifespan Physician Group and a highly accomplished executive leader with a proven track record in business growth and transformation. He successfully increased the provider count from 550 to over 800 during his tenure at Lifespan, elevating revenue from $125M to $232M between FY2016 to FY2022 while meeting budget targets. Dr. Lampert led the transition of a group of specialty practices into a cohesive, unified group with a shared identity through a combination of Board redesign and Management restructuring. His focus on enhancing patient care through innovative programs earned shared savings and quality incentives in value-based contracts.  Equally comfortable as a leader or team player, he collaborated with IT leadership to implement EPIC Healthy Planet for enhanced population health management.

A seasoned physician executive, Dr. Lampert came to Lifespan after more than 20 years in leadership positions with Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates and Atrius Health. He is known for his deep commitment to providing patients with the best and safest care.

Dr. Lampert earned his Doctor of Medicine degree at the University of Vermont College of Medicine. He then completed a residency at St. Luke’s Hospital in New York and fellowship training in cardiology at Brigham & Women’s Hospital and Harvard School of Public Health.  In 1999 Boston University Graduate School of Management awarded him a master of business administration degree.  He is a clinical assistant professor of medicine at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.
